Hungry Girl Joins Exhibitor Lineup at West Michigan Women’s Expo

Grand Rapids, Michigan, March 4, 2015New York Times best-selling author and TV personality Hungry Girl has joined the exhibitor lineup for next week’s West Michigan Women’s Expo.
 
Also known as Lisa Lillien, Hungry Girl will debut her new line of deliciously guilt-free pizzas noon to 3 p.m.  Friday, March 13 at the Expo, which returns to Grand Rapids for a three-day show focused on women’s health, home decorating, casino fun, style, shopping and more.  Lillien is founder of www.hungry-girl.com, a free daily email service that reaches more than 1 million hungry people with entertaining recipes, food finds, tips and tricks.
 
A self-proclaimed "mad scientist" in the kitchen, Lillien dishes out guilt-free recipes, supermarket finds and survival guides for real-world eating situations.  She writes weekly columns on WeightWatchers.com and People.com and hosts “Hungry Girl” on the Food Network and Cooking Channel.
 
Her new line of pizzas will be available locally at Meijer.
 
“We’re delighted to welcome Hungry Girl to this year’s Expo,” said show promoter Denise Kolesar.  “She enjoys a tremendous fan following for her columns, TV shows, books and food recommendations.  Be sure to come hungry – you’ll be able to sample her new line of guilt-free pizza Friday afternoon only.”
 
Kolesar said more than 400 women-owned and women-focused businesses and stage presentations will open at 10 a.m. March 13 and run Saturday and Sunday at DeVos Place during this year’s Expo.  Always the largest single consumer event for women, the event will feature dozens of longtime favorite exhibitors, as well as new products, services and seminars designed to inspire, tempt and delight. 
 
Another recent edition is Roy Hayes Studio®, a British footwear designer who will bring his collections of high quality, comfortable, well-fitting and uniquely stylish shoes to Expo this year.
 
This year’s lineup of exhibits, speakers and events will also include:
·         The Wizard’s Workshop with Brian Santos, “The Wall Wizard” who is a best-selling author and decorative artist whose clients have included Clint Eastwood, Joe Montana and George Lucas. Santos will take the stage daily with mindful painting and wallpaper tips, green advice and guidance on how to use paint, faux finishes and wall coverings that add a high-quality, fresh new look to your home.  Santos notes that paint tops the list when it comes to home updates, while wallpaper is making a comeback.

  • Michael O’Rourke, world-renowned LA celebrity stylist who is on a national tour that will stop in Grand Rapids at this year’s Women’s Expo.  The genius behind the Big Sexy Hair brand of products, O’Rourke is in town to introduce his latest product line, Rock Your Hair.  Stylist to the celebrities, O’Rourke delivers big volume and endless hair styling ideas and demonstrations on-site at the Expo.
  • Something Pinteresting is Going On returns with Full Circle Design Studio offering ideas on how to give new life to old treasures.  This local paint studio uses the ever-popular CeCe Caldwell Paints, a line of hand-poured, American-made, eco-friendly paints, stains and finishes.
  • Great Lakes Author Expo, which will feature more than 24 independent authors representing 63 books. Authors will be on hand to promote literacy and discuss their books and writing in general, from urban fantasy and the supernatural to mysteries, business and more.  Author appearances and book signings will include prominent authors Tom Rademacher, Charles Honey, Amy Henrickson, Joe Koenig, Susan Maciak and Tricia McDonald throughout the three-day show.  Authors will be signing and selling their books throughout Expo. 
  • Meijer Inc. returns with its popular Healthy Living Area and Cooking Stage.  Meijer corporate dietitian Shari Steinbach will be among the speakers sharing recipes, easy meals for families and other cooking solutions and tips. 
  • The Scarlet Cord art installation by Grand Rapids artist Pamela Alderman, which was a 2014 Art Prize entry and most recently on display in Phoenix during Super Bowl XLIX to raise awareness for child sex-trafficking victims.  The moving installation calls for understanding the complex issues that lead to trafficking, as well as compassionate action to end the practice.  The artist will be on-site during the Expo to meet and talk with attendees.

Grand Rapids, Michigan, February 12, 2015 – The West Michigan Women’s Expo returns to Grand Rapids for its 17th year with features focused on women’s health, home decorating ideas, casino fun, style and shopping – and giving women something to feel good about.
                                                                                                                                 
Slated for March 13-15, the 2015 Expo will feature products, services and seminars that aim to provide a weekend of education, entertainment and enjoyment for women.  As the largest single consumer event for women in the region, the three-day Expo will host more than 375 women-owned and women-focused businesses and stage presentations, all held downtown at DeVos Place.

This year’s lineup of exhibits, speakers and events will include:

  • The Wizard's Workshop with Brian Santos, “The Wall Wizard”, best-selling author and decorative artist known as “The Wall Wizard” whose past clients include Clint Eastwood, Joe Montana and George Lucas. Santos will take the stage daily with a number of painting and wallpaper tips and trends.
